Character's Name: Janalyn Roberta McKinley Character's Age: 14 Character's Birthday: January 3 Year: fourth Celebrity: Ashley Greene Bloodline: Pure Patronus: (None yet, but when she does have one, ‘twill be a Burmese house cat) Boggart: Voldemort; Janalyn has seen the war from both sides‘ perspectives. The fact that he is able to manipulate both his enemies and his followers, sometimes to madness, is extremely frightening to her.

Character's History ~~
Janalyn was born to finalize a seemingly perfect arranged marriage. With both pureblood families getting along splendidly, everything seemed to come together just fine. Two years later, Zaeli came along.
Janalyn and Zaeli frequently enjoyed swimming in the lake beside their home. No one could’ve predicted that one happy day would turn devastating in just minutes. The sisters were racing to the shore. Janalyn was winning, and did not look back until she crossed the finish line. When she did, her sister was nowhere in sight. Zaeli drowned that day, and Janalyn would never set foot in a body of water again.
As Janalyn grew older, her parents’ differences began to surface. Completely disregarding their daughter’s say in the matter, Danielle and Emmett divorced without hesitation. Janalyn was ten years old.
It was decided that Janalyn would stay with her grandfather so as not to be corrupted by the confusion of switching from two such different environments.
Her mother, Danielle, believed that muggle-borns deserved as much magic as the next, and eventually joined the Order of the Phoenix. Emmett, her father, believed mud bloods were merely thieves who had stolen their magic from true “wizards.” He became a Death Eater. Neither was aware of their spouse’s alliance, and it stayed that way. The only person who did, was Janalyn, and she was expected to keep the secret for good.
Janalyn kept contact with both parents, giving her one more perspective on the war than the average wizard. Because of this, she has grown up neutral and between alliances.
Character's Personality ~~
Janalyn is a quiet girl who enjoys sitting in the common room and curling up with a good book. She is not necessarily shy, nor is she softspoken, she just chooses to listen more often than she chooses to speak. In a group of people, she tends to blend in with the shadows until she sees a good debate coming on. She is incredibly intelligent, and will most likely speak her mind whenever she feels she is right. Which is almost all the time seeing how she believes that she is much smarter than most. Her stubbornness is translated into the fact that she seems to love to argue.
Because of her neutral alliance, people tend to see her as suspicious. Because of her perspective from both sides of the war, she has trouble trusting anyone, friend or enemy. She has a tendency to disregard others’ feelings and can sometimes be fairly insensitive. She can be trusted if she believes there’s something in it for her, but otherwise her peers seem to see her as somewhat of a snob.
Janalyn does not mind company, but she has gotten used to being alone. Because of her small amount of friends, she has had plenty of spare time to learn new things, something she loves. She is pretty, but she does not look people in the eye enough for them to see it. Instead, she tends to observe others from afar. She’s very insightful, and likes to guess what people are thinking. She has an almost photographic memory and a rather large imagination, but she tends to keep those to herself.
Character's Appearance ~~
The first thing most people notice about Janalyn are her eyes. A dark brown, they always seem to be full of secrets. Her features are rounded. She has a long face, a pointed nose, and thin lips in a perpetual pout. She tends to hide her face behind her hair, especially since she chooses not to show anyone her emotions, afraid to show weakness.
Janalyn has never paid much mind to her hair. The dark brown locks merely fall by her back in loose waves, not usually needing any attention to stay neat. Evey doesn’t bother fussing with it in the morning like most girls her age. Instead she drags a brush through it once or twice just before leaving for breakfast.
